TEEN MAKES "LARK" ASCEND TO MINT CONDITION

BLAIRSVILLE--When he was born, Garvin Piper rode home from the hospital in a restored 1963 Studebaker Lark Daytona driven by his father. As a child, his mother, Susan, would read to him from a book on the history of the Studebaker.

And his middle name, JM, has a double meaning--he was named after John Mohler Studebaker, the founder of Studebaker Corporation, and for his grandfather, John Marlin Dudeck.

So it's no mystery how Piper developed a love and appreciation for Studebaker restoration, namely those made in 1960. (more follows)
