WITH JENKINS AT WHEEL, SPECIAL SIX A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH

SOUTH BEND -- The Special Six is not one of the more familiar Studebaker models, but from 1918 through 1926, more than 250,000 Special Sixes were sold, making it one of the most successful Studebakers ever built.

The Studebaker Special Six was positioned firmly in the middle of Studebaker's lineup, between the entry-level Light Six and Studebaker's top-of-the-line Big Six. The Special Six's success was due in no small part to the fact it was an affordable, rugged, well-built automobile in keeping with the Studebaker tradition of "giving more than you promise."

In competition, the Special Six was a force to be reckoned with, especially in the hands of David Abbot "Ab" Jenkins. (more follows)
