DON JONES FOR REGIONAL MANAGER - PROFILE CONTINUED
Employment:
US Army, Commissioned as Regular Armey Officer serving on active
duty. Assignments included Platoon leader, Battalion Adjutant, Assistant
Brigade Adjutant, and Division Personnel Management Officer for a combat
unit that was deployed to Southeast Asia where I spent one year in the
Central Highlands of Vietnam. Stateside assignments were Assistant Director
Defense Logistics Support Center Communications Center. I ran the internal
postal system handling approximately 15,000 pieces of mail daily. Also
served in a classified position. Us Army, Adjutant General’s Office,
Director of Temporary Disability Retirement Office, managing over 10,000
temporarily retired Army personnel.
Sun Oil Company, Territorial Manager. Managed two separate territories
consisting of 36 independently owned and operated Sunoco Stations. Assisted
dealers in business enhancement and growth programs. Recruited, trained
and installed new dealers assisting them to grow business. Solicited and
contracted privately owned operations transferring them to the Sunoco
brand.
Nationwide Insurance Companies. Started career as an Independently
contracted agent building a business to over 2,500 policies in force,
producing revenues in the area of $300,000 annually, within 6 1/2 years.
Recruited to management holding major positions from a local to national
basis. Emphasis of all positions was on growth, retention and revenue
enhancement. Managed revenues in excess of $250,000,000 annually.
Career Quest Associates, Vice President Consulting. Co-owned Career
Management and Consulting firm in Northeast US. Managed career paths and
assisted mid to senior level executives in enhancing their careers and
finding new opportunities. Produced all required documents and provided
advice on careers, interviews and actual opportunities through acceptance
of positions. Sold firm to nation’s leading Career Consulting Management
firm in late 2002
McKinsey Scott Partners, Senior Vice President/Northeast Center Manager.
Managed the firm’s largest region producing annual revenues in excess
of $7,500,000 annually. Directed consulting staff of 10. Personally managed
campaigns for senior level executives of Fortune 500 firms.
Additional Collector Automobile Activities
1995-Present Avanti Owners Association. Joined with purchase of
first Avanti. Ran for and was elected to AOAI National Board of Directors
in 2000 and served six years. Elected and served as the Board’s
VP for five of those six years. Duties included chairing Chapter Charting
Committee, chartering three new chapters including the first International
Chapter. Laid the groundwork for three additional chapters to be chartered
in 2009/2010. Assisted in reactivation in two additional chapters. Also
Chaired Chapter Newsletter Committee, giving advice and counsel to newsletter
editors as requested. Managed annual Newsletter Editor Awards at International
meetings. Hosted AOAI at Lancaster Meet 2008.
2006-Present Antique Automobile Club of America. Joined local Lehigh
Valley Region at suggestion of the local President. Became active in events
and assisted in planning and running activities. Suggested membership
growth and retention programs leading to 100% growth rate in past two
years. Selected to speak an 2009 AACA Annual Meeting on Membership Growth
and Retention programs that have proved to be effective. Elected President
of Lehigh Valley Region, 12/07/08.
